Dog fights is banned in Pakistan officially. But, in Chaman where hundreds of the Afghan refugees live with locals, it’s a winter sport. The Afghan refugees and the locals of Chaman keep dogs for ‘blood sport’. They keep expensive dogs worth starting from Rs 100000 (Nearly $1000) to Rs 600000. In Chaman, local notables arrange these terrible fights, which are seen not only by locals and Afghan refugees but people from Afghanistan also attend these events in a large number. It’s a bloody game against animal rights. During the dog fight many of the dogs are badly wounded. Some of the dogs’ owners and the spectators bet on these fights.
